Biography

Dr Tzoulaki is an Associate Professor in Epidemiology in University of Ioannina and a Visiting Professor in Chronic Disease Epidemiology at Imperial College London. She has extensive expertise in molecular epidemiology and track record on precision medicine and prediction models. She has a particular interest in the role of environmental and genetic factors in relation to cardiometabolic diseases and neurodegenerative diseases. She has led large consortia funded by the EC and US NIH as PI and contributes as expert and advisor in several organisms including the European Food and Safety Authority. She has considerable experience in the design, conduct and management of large, international epidemiologic studies. She has been a member and secretariat of the UK Biobank Enhancement Subgroup which designed the enhanced phenotyping of UK Biobank 500,000 participants. She has over 161 scientific publications and >19,000 citations (H index=70).
