Biography

Stavros Nikolakopoulos is an Assistant Professor of Applied Statistics at the department of Psychology, University of Ioannina. He holds a BSc in Statistics from the University of Piraeus, Greece, an MSc in Methodology and Statistics for the Social and Behavioral Sciences (cum laude) from Utrecht University and a PhD in Biostatistics from the same university. His PhD thesis is entitled “Hybrid Bayesian -frequentist approaches for randomized trial design in small populations”. He has supervised numerous MSc students and PhD candidates in the field of biostatistics. He also has extensive teaching experience in Greece and abroad. Stavros serves as a statistical assessor for the Dutch Medicines Evaluation Board (CBG-MEB) and the European Medicines Agency, for which he also works as a collaborating expert in the field of regulatory methods for the assessment of advanced therapies (ATMPs) and orphan drug products. His research interests include clinical trial design and analysis as well as evidence synthesis methods.
