Biography

Emmanouil (Manos) Bouras was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. He studied Nutrition and Dietetics in the International Hellenic University [2004 to 2009] and did his master’s in Medical Research Methodology at the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) [2014 to 2017].

Over the last decade he has worked as a research and teaching assistant at the Medical School of AUTH, adult trainer at vocational schools, as a freelance consultant and in the Greek NHS (intern). He has been a full-time research fellow at the Laboratory of Hygiene, Social & Preventive Medicine and Medical Statistics, AUTH [2016 to 2019], and the Department of Hygiene and Epidemiology, Ioannina [2019 to date], working on several research programs, including PATHAGE, the nationally funded EDBM-103, WCRF-funded projects, the MIntS study and the RE-ENERGIZE Study.

He is a PhD candidate [2017 to date] investigating mechanisms linking diet to cancer, using meta-analytical methodologies.

He is co-author of >30 peer-reviewed journal papers and his research interests are focused on evidence synthesis and Mendelian randomization analysis.
